"Every Boy Deserves a Trained Leader"

- - Baden-Powell

One of the keys to a successful Scouting experience for young boys is trained volunteer Leadership.  Pack 225, in conjunction with the Central Florida Council and its various training committees, is committed to providing top quality training opportunities for all of our Leaders, parents and Scouts.  We are dedicated to helping you increase your knowledge and skills so you are better able to deliver a quality Scouting program to our entire youth membership.

Pack 225's training chairperson for 2007-2008 is Mark Rumph (training at pack225.org (remember to replace the word "at" with the @ symbol)).  He is available to answer all of your questions regarding training opportunities, requirements and records.

Upcoming Live Training Opportunities:

None at this time.  Check back periodically for updates.

Online Training Opportunities:

BSA Online Training Center - Several E-Learning courses are available including Youth Protection Training, Leader Fast Start Training, Committee Fast Start Training, Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense.  Registration is required, but you do not have to be a registered leader to enroll.  Even if you have not received your official registration number from BSA, you may take these courses.

Youth Protection Training is required for each and every adult volunteer who comes in contact with our Youth.  All Cub Scout adult volunteers should take this free course as soon as possible.  Email copies of your completion certificate to training at pack225.org (replace "at" with "@").

Cub Scout Leader Fast Start Training is the first step toward training for any volunteer new to Cub Scouting.  There are courses for Tiger Den Leaders, Wolf/Bear Den Leaders, Weblos Den Leaders, Cubmasters, and Committee Members.  These courses should be taken before you begin any youth activities.  This program typically takes less than one hour to complete.  Leaders entering new roles should take the appropriate Fast Start Training for their new positions.

Safety Afloat Training is required before any BSA group may engage on activities on the water (canoeing, sailing, etc.).  There are also other restrictions for on-water Cub Scout activities, but this is a prerequisite for any such activities.

Safe Swim Defense Training is required before any BSA group may engage in swimming activities of any kind.  There are other restrictions for Cub Scout swimming activities, but this is a prerequisite for any such activities.
